PROCEDURE C
Go to SYSTEM MENU CONTROLS > SETUP > PREFERENCES > KEY MAP > USER KEYS and set one of
the programmable user keys as a one-touch unmount option.
COPYING MEDIA
For use when media is connected directly to your computer. When copying media, it is recommended
that you drag the complete .RDM folder on the digital magazine to the archive storage media. This copies
all the media and metadata files. You will not need to copy the log and magazine profile files, but if you do
so, it will do no harm.
CAUTION: REDFLASH 16GB Compact Flash cards and REDMAG SSD transfer data at extremely
high rates. RED recommends using RED STATION™. Using inexpensive or low-quality readers may
cause damage to the cards and/or corruption/loss of media files stored on them.
ERASING MEDIA USING MACINTOSH OS X
1. Connect the CF card or REDMAG via RED STATION™, or the RED-DRIVE or RED-RAM via a stand-
ard FireWire 400 / 800 cables.
2. Open the Disk Utility.
3. Carefully choose the drive from the list on the left.
4. Select the Erase tab.
5. Choose MS-DOS (FAT) as the Volume Format. You can add a Name if desired, however the camera
will overwrite this.
